Surprise announcement in front of the net for the Montreal Canadiens today
As the Montreal Canadiens are preparing to play a second game in two nights, this time against the New Jersey Devils, everything suggests we'll have an intriguing surprise in the net tonight.
«Samuel Montembeault and Cayden Primeau were both on the ice this morning.
Primeau was the first to leave.
Draw your own conclusions. I'm just telling you what happened.
We will get confirmations later.»
Via Anthony Martineau, TVA Sports Interesting! It's Cayden Primeau who did the starting goaltender's routine!
However, there's also this to note.
«Interesting here this morning for the Canadiens as it's goalie Cayden Primeau who gets off the ice first from the optional morning skate.
Jake Allen, who played last night was not on the ice, could he go again?
Sam Montembeault remains out with the skaters.»
Amanda Stein, New Jersey journalist While everyone expected Samuel Montembeault in the net tonight, especially with 2 games in 2 nights, all signs point to a surprise.
Either Jake Allen will play a second game in 24 hours, or Cayden Primeau will get his 1st start of the season against Jack Hughes and the powerful Devils.
We will have confirmation tonight, but in either case, it would be quite a surprise from Martin St-Louis.
If we had a couple of dollars to bet, we believe Primeau will make his debut in the Canadiens' net this season. It will be a big challenge for him!
