It has just been confirmed for Jonathan Drouin's future and it's big
The former Montreal Canadiens forward, Jonathan Drouin, made an interesting confession in a press conference.
While many analysts are questioning his future as a free agent, Drouin clearly revealed his intentions.
He wants to stay with the Colorado Avalanche, and it seems he will remain there even if he could sign a bigger contract elsewhere. Wow.
«I would really like to return to the Avalanche next year. I loved my time here, and so did my entire family.» - Jonathan Drouin
We are far from the Jonathan that some saw playing in Europe not so long ago.
This would be confirmed for Jonathan Drouin, according to David Pagnotta
According to the renowned insider, it's a done deal.
«Colorado will have a lot on their plate this summer, but I am convinced that Jonathan Drouin will stay with the team. The 'fit' is too logical.»
- David Pagnotta
He is convinced! Let's just hope that Drouin can be paid fairly, because we know that the Avalanche are extremely tight financially, and it's certain that Jonathan will leave money on the table to return to play there.
He is still likely to earn more than the $825,000 he made this season, but it will be interesting to see by how much.
Drouin, 29, amassed 56 points in 79 games this season, including 19 goals. It was easily his best season in his career, as he was the top scorer for Colorado after Nathan Mackinnon, Mikko Rantanen, and Cale Makar.
Drouin added 3 points in 3 playoff games.
We are really happy for him! How much should he sign for his next contract, in your opinion?
