He probably would never have reached the NHL and the Habs, but here's the official announcement.

The ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens thus confirmed the departure of forward Jared Power after only eight games played.
Ron Choules made this release official, stating that Power, 25 years old, leaves the team with just one point scored (1 goal).
Originally from Calgary, the 6'2" and 185 pounds left winger is now free to join another team and that is likely to happen.
He also amassed 22 points at Mount Royal University. (and 23 points in 28 games in the BCHL)
