As the Quebec Remparts prepare to play a game in front of a historic crowd at the Videotron Centre, we wanted to talk a bit about their head coach and general manager, whom you know very well.
Patrick Roy is theoretically in his last season with the Remparts.
I can confirm to you that behind the scenes, everyone has considered for almost a year that the former #33 will not be back behind the Quebec bench for the 2023-24 season.
Everyone has prepared accordingly and everyone has quietly accepted it. It even seemed settled at times.
A turnaround in sight?
While there is currently a major enthusiasm around the Remparts, and while Roy is experiencing some great moments with his team, he has just made a surprise statement that we love.
After even publicly confirming earlier this year that he intended to pass the torch to his assistant Simon Gagné next season, Roy has now made a mini volte-face.
He has just opened the door to a comeback!
In an interview, Roy did not rule out the possibility of changing his mind.
'In an interview with Martin Lemay, Patrick Roy revealed that the door was not completely closed with regard to a return behind the bench next season...' - BPM Sports
