After drafting three goaltenders in the most recent National Hockey League draft, Kent Hughes has just added another one.

Wearing his general manager hat for the Laval Rocket, Hughes announced two signings, including that of goaltender Strauss Mann!

Does the name ring a bell? It's possible. A few months ago, he was considered one of the top goaltending prospects in the world.

He was the goalie for the powerhouse Michigan University, and he had a very solid NCAA career:

- 18 wins, 13 losses, an average of 1.85, and an efficiency rate of 0.940 in 2020

- 11 wins, 9 losses, an average of 1.89, and an efficiency rate of 0.930 in 2021.

After his stint in the NCAA, Mann was solid in Sweden's top league. (13 wins, 9 losses, an average of 2.19 and an efficiency rate of 0.915)

He then evolved within the San Jose Sharks organization, and now he's coming to the Montreal Canadiens.

Mann, 24 years old, is definitely a good catch for Kent Hughes, especially as there's absolutely no risk with this signing.

We also welcome the signing of Tobie Paquette-Bisson, who has been solid for the Rocket.

"The Rocket agree on the terms of a one-way, one-season contract with defenseman Tobie Paquette-Bisson and goaltender Strauss Mann."
