Much has been said about these two players, but as my colleague Christian Matte of Marqueur.com reports, they failed to make the top 10 of the Habs' top prospects made by RDS reporter Stephane Leroux.
Note that this list only includes players who have played 10 games or less with the team.
And it is very interesting to see that there are four defensemen among the top five prospects, which is a very encouraging sign for the future of the defense.
1- Kaiden Guhle
2- Logan Mailloux
3- Jordan Harris
4- Jesse Ylonen
5- Mattias Norlinder
6- Jan Mysak
7- Sean Farrell
8- Joshua Roy
9- Rafael Harvey-Pinard
10- Jakub Dobes
Not surprisingly, Kaiden Guhle is at the top of this list, some Western Canada journalists even said he was the best junior defenseman in Canada this year.
As for Mailloux, let's hope that he can recover from his injury as soon as possible and that people start talking about his achievements on the ice instead of all the controversy surrounding his selection.
These two defensemen could potentially become the Habs' number one defense pair for years to come.
The first forward on this list, Ylonen, is, according to his coach with the Laval Rocket, the closest NHL player on his team. And it's interesting to note that there are two Quebecers on the list, Harvey-Pinard and the QMJHL's top scorer, a certain Joshua Roy.
Honorable mention for the tenth prospect in the top ten, goaltender Jakub Dobes, who was named to the Big Ten NCAA Division All-Star team.
