Another hometown player is signed and added to the Canadiens' lineup: Kent Hughes did very well to sign Brandon Gignac
As you know, over the past weekend, General Manager Kent Hughes signed forward Brandon Gignac.
In the last few hours, the Canadiens have announced and confirmed that Gignac will be in the lineup tonight in Washington.
He will make his debut under the guidance of Martin St-Louis.
Brandon Gignac becomes the 6th Quebecer to join Montreal's lineup
Indeed, this is what we have just learned through Marc-Olivier Beaudoin.
"Brandon Gignac will play his first game with the CH tonight. He will be the 6th Quebecer to don the Canadiens uniform this season (with Matheson, Savard, Montembeault, RHP, and Roy) out of a total of 46 Quebecers in the entire NHL.
So 13% with the Canadiens. Not bad!"
Interesting! We are extremely happy for him and can't wait to see him in action, especially since he has done so well with the Laval Rocket.
"Brandon Gignac will play his first game in the Canadiens uniform, Tuesday against Washington." - Montreal Canadiens
The official confirmation:
Gignac, 26, is a native of Repentigny. He has accumulated 42 points in 43 games this season in the AHL.
In his NHL career, he has 0 points in 1 game. (with the New Jersey Devils) Nearly five years later, here he is again!
