The NHL's official sports drink sponsor has declared bankruptcy after losing money for months.

It was just announced that sports drink company BioSteel has filed for bankruptcy protection in the U.S. and Canada.

BioSteel is the official sports drink sponsor of the NHL and sponsors many individual players including Nathan MacKinnon, John Tavares, and Connor McDavid.
Each summer they invite 30 NHL players and prospects to camp. This past summer they had Connor Bedard and Connor McDavid both in attendance.
They reportedly have been in the red for months and their parent company has decided to cut off all funding in an effort to lose less money.
