Over the past few days, the Boston Bruins have been caught up in a big controversy, following the signing of Mitchell Miller.

Commissioner Gary Bettman then came out publicly to say that Miller is not allowed to play in the National Hockey League.

Some fans and journalists have made suspicious parallels between this case, and the one of Logan Mailloux with the Montreal Canadiens.

In any case, that's not the point here.

The point is that this story has allowed us to learn a major new piece of information about Mailloux and the CH: he too is not allowed to play in the NHL, until proven otherwise.

Playing ban

Currently, Mailloux is still effectively not cleared to play in the NHL.

This is an important piece of information that was just confirmed by Jeff Gorton.

Even if the Habs wanted to play Mailloux this season, he wouldn't even be allowed (technically).

Anyway, Mailloux is not there yet in his development, but it still means that before seeing him in a Montreal Canadiens uniform, there will be another important step to take, and Gary Bettman will have to give his permission.

"Like Mitchell Miller, Logan Mailloux will have to get the green light from Gary Bettman before he can play in the NHL, confirms Jeff Gorton." - Simon-O. Lorange
