Barclay Goodrow signing: Rangers are crazy

Barclay Goodrow just signed a monster contract worth $21.85 million for a total of six years. He was on track to become an unrestricted free agent on July 28.
Yes, Goodrow remains a very effective supporting player. Yes, Goodrow has a winner's tag tacked under his name. Yes, Goodrow has won back-to-back Stanley Cups. But at the end of the day, the 28-year-old Ontario native remains a bottom-6 player, like Artturi Lehkonen, for example.
Lehkonen was acquired from the Tampa Bay Lightning with a seventh-round pick in 2022. The Toronto native had 20 points, including 6 goals, in 55 games last year with Tampa Bay. He also added 6 points in 18 games in the playoffs.
Chris Drury was obviously eager to add experience to his young roster, as he slightly overpaid for this depth forward...
