Marc Bergevin confirms that Jonathan Drouin will be back! The CH general manager met the media this morning, some hot topics were on the menu! He had some very bad news about Shea Weber.

Marc Bergevin, who seemed exhausted, met with the media this morning following the Seattle Kraken Expansion Draft. He spoke on a few hot topics and was very transparent in his responses.

He gave an update on the Carey Price situation, who was not claimed by the Seattle Kraken in the Expansion Draft. He mentioned that it was a very big risk to leave him unprotected, but it was a calculated risk. He also had a plan B, should Price leave for Seattle.

Apparently, it was Carey Price who went to Marc Bergevin to offer to protect Jake Allen at his expense. The price for the Kraken not to select Allen was too exuberant for the CH general manager to fall for it.

A lot of information has been leaked to the media recently regarding Shea Weber. According to them, Weber's career is compromised. Marc Bergevin confirmed this scenario this morning, when he said that Weber would not be in the lineup next season and that he could see his career end. Considering all of Shea Weber's injuries, he wasn't too worried about him getting claimed by Seattle...

The Habs general manager will be actively looking for a right-handed defenseman to replace Weber. However, he is not closed to the idea of playing Romanov or Edmundson on the right.

Bergevin had some very good news on Jonathan Drouin, as he and Dominique Ducharme met with the forward on Tuesday. The number 92 will be at the training camp in September, he feels in great shape these days.

Bergevin also talked about Phillip Danault. According to him, he is still hopeful that he can find a deal with the center. Danault is still in the team's plans.

The boss was asked if Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Jake Evans were ready to graduate to the next level if Danault leaves. He seemed confident about the youngsters' fate, if such a scenario were to happen.

He also pointed out the many things that Kotkaniemi will have to work on this off-season to become a more solid player. Obviously, Bergevin believes that KK will have to get stronger physically in both his upper and lower body. He will have to be more consistent, too.

If you thought Corey Perry wasn't in the Canadiens' plans for next season, think again, he is one of Marc Bergevin's priorities.
