In the last few minutes, it has been announced that the young defenseman of the Montreal Canadiens, David Reinbacher, has been named one of the youngsters of the year in the solid National League A of Switzerland.
Recall that he played the entire season despite being only 18 years old, and he was heavily utilized (also really productive for a youngster - 22 points in 46 games.)
Here is the announcement and the three nominees:
Congratulations to David!
This is undoubtedly a beautiful recognition for the young man and it speaks volumes about his skills. It should also be noted that there's a chance that Reinbacher will return to play in this same league next year.
