According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, Northeastern University's young defenseman Jayden Struble wants to return to college next year and will not be signing a contract with the Habs anytime soon.
Friedman says the Habs wanted to sign him now. The reason is simple, next spring, if he does not sign with Montreal, he will be free as a bird, as it could have been the case with Jordan Harris, this season.
Does he want to finish his studies or does he simply think that the Habs' defensive team is a little too talented to find a niche?
To be continued, but considering he's playing with the sons of St-Louis and Hughes, let's just say that the chances of him signing with Montreal are very high.
Struble has 14 points in 34 games this season. He is a second round pick of the Tricolore in 2019.
