One of the players that is causing a lot of reactions and questions right now is the Montreal Canadiens' number one goalie, Carey Price.
After thinking about retirement, and now that he is (finally) back in the game to finish the season, Price will now have to look at his long-term future.
To that end, we just got comments from Carey's own agent, Gerry Johannson, who was a guest on Jeff Marek and Elliotte Friedman's 32 Thoughts podcast.
See what Johannson had to say about Carey Price's future (both in Montreal and the NHL in general), as reported by my colleague Christian Matte of Marqueur.com:
"It is difficult to work with players, when they are injured. The problem is that it's really hard to plan ahead. You just don't know until they're healthy. I mean, you're either injured or you're not. When players are injured like Carey was, you really focus on getting back to play. You know, coming back physically is one thing, especially with an injury that kept you out for a while. Last year, he was obviously banged up in the playoffs."
And he adds this:
"So it's a mental thing, too, when the player is ready. He tries not to project too far ahead on that. It's just one of those things, you know. You just have to be patient and really let the player come to term with it all. Then we can move on to the next step." - Gerry Johannson
Basically, carey will have an important discussion to have, as far as his future, with his agent and family in due course, once the season is over.
A decision will eventually be made, but one thing is for sure, Carey's agent is being very vague and keeping it vague.
Price will have to think about his health and his family, in the long term, to make a decision. To be continued!
