Caufield's agent has just broken the silence about his next contract and the reactions are numerous
One of the most talked about issues for the Montreal Canadiens right now is the possible contract extension of young Cole Caufield.
There is a lot of speculation on the subject, but in the last few minutes, Caufield's agent, Pat Brisson, agreed to break the silence, to give us more information.
See what he had to say, in an interview with the excellent Pierre LeBrun.
"Jeff Gorton came out a few weeks ago and said we're having conversations. Yes, we've started having conversations, and it's very preliminary," Caufield's agent, Pat Brisson, said in an interview this week with LeBrun for an article published on The Athletic
There is no rush, for them, in this matter.
"There's no timeline as far as we're concerned. I talked to Kent Hughes the other day. We'll see how it goes. We're having conversations about a contract extension."
That's the priority for the Montreal Canadiens right now, and we're dealing with two tough negotiators here (in Brisson and Hughes). It will be interesting to watch.
