However, as reported by Cimon Asselin of Habsolumentfan.com, there are good reasons to believe that the young defenseman could have an interesting future with the Habs.
On Louis-Phillipe Guy's latest show on 91.9 Sports, Chantal Machabée was on hand to discuss a number of issues concerning the Habs and the subject of Logan Mailloux came up.
Logan is in town to meet with the organization and the Canadiens' vice-president of communications said she was eager to meet the young man and see how the organization will work with him.
That explains a lot!
It is recalled that Mailloux is recovering from shoulder surgery, he who played only 12 games this season with the London Knights where he still collected nine points.
Unlike Kaiden Guhle, the team's first pick in 2020, Mailloux has yet to sign his NHL entry-level contract and Kent Hughes recently stated that he has no intention of negotiating a contract with him this off-season.
It will be interesting to follow this issue over the next few months, as if Mailloux is unable to reach an agreement with the Habs, he could return to the draft in 2023.
In closing, Machabée also commented on the Shea Weber trade for Evgenii Dadonov and she is very positive about the 33 year old veteran joining the Habs and he could be a great mentor for the team's younger players.
