On Friday night, Connor McDavid certainly threaded the NHL goal of the year. That goal might even rank among the most beautiful in league history because everything happened so fast.
The speed of his hands, his feet and his mind completely mesmerized the four New York Rangers players who were near him. Spectacular, you say? Even better than Messmer!
If the goal was heavenly, the Edmonton Oilers captain's statement following his team's win was just as heavenly. So, after the 6-5 overtime win with Leon Draisaitl's 10th goal of the campaign, McDavid didn't give a damn about his spectacular goal.
"I get paid to score big goals. I get paid to do that kind of stuff. I'm just doing my job..."said McDavid.
I love the maturity that 97 has taken on since entering the "show". At 24 years old, he is ready to take the next step and win a championship!
