Last night, the Montreal Canadiens played one of their best games of the season, as they won 3-2 against the Philadelphia Flyers.
Not insignificant in this win is that Dominique Ducharme used his young players extensively. Several youngsters are auditioning and others must show that they are ready to take the torch.
The line of Laurent Dauphin, Jonathan Drouin and Jesse Ylonen was excellent. Nick Suzuki and Alexander Romanov were used extensively and Cole Caufield was throwing pucks all over the place. Cayden Primeau was also sensational with his 37 saves, as well as stopping all three Flyers shooters in the shootout.
In short, the kids played a great game last night. They just keep getting better and better.
Dominique Ducharme even limited Joel Armia to 9 minutes of ice time and Jeff Petry played 21 minutes. Dom Ducharme is starting to understand that if he wants to win and have the respect of his players, he has to go on merit...
