Four Habs Players will be Playing for Team Canada, With One Unexpected Player Joining Them
This afternoon on the Twitter account of La poche bleue, the account believes that Nick Suzuki, Kirby Dach, and defenseman Mike Matheson could be plausible or even logical choices for Team Canada's GM Doug Armstrong.
And the guys from La poche bleue add Samuel Montembeault to the names mentioned above. Which might sound crazy, but really isn't. What a revelation in this miserable season. The #35 from the Canadiens might be a welcomed addition to the CH lineup.
Personally, I believe that Sam has his place with Team Canada, and I'm not overly surprised, as I have followed Montembeault's career very closely in junior at his time with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. I saw his spectacular performances against the Bécancour goaltender. And he was more than dominant during his stay on the North Shore.
The tournament, taking place from May 12 to 28, 2023, will be particularly interesting to follow this year if we find these players in the lineup.
Samuel Montembeault with Team Canada next May, do you believe it? Absolutely no one would have predicted this at the beginning of the season, but it would be a pleasant surprise.
