According to the information we can find on the very useful site CapFriendly, the Montreal Canadiens are on the verge of losing the rights to the following prospects:

"According to CapFriendly, the following players' rights will expire in 2024:
June 1st
Jared Davidson
Cédrick Guindon
Petteri Nurmi
Miguel Tourigny

August 15th
Blake Biondi
Ty Smilanic
Luke Tuch"

To change this situation, Kent Hughes must absolutely sign them before next summer if he wants to avoid losing them.

This situation could still change, but it's something to keep in mind over the next few months, just like we did with the young goalie Frederik Dichow (who was eventually released by the Habs).

As a reminder, the Canadiens, like all other teams, have a maximum number of contracts they can offer. With a large number of prospects in the organization, Kent Hughes will have some tough decisions to make and won't be able to keep everyone.

Among the names mentioned above, Jared Davidson, Cédrick Guindon, Ty Smilanic, and Luke Tuch are particularly interesting. These players will need to have strong seasons to secure their place with the Canadiens.

Davidson, a 5th-round pick in 2022, has shown excellent progress to date.

Tuch was a 2nd-round pick (47th overall) in 2020.
