Joshua Roy reveals the story behind his call-up to the Canadiens and explains how it happened
Here is a very interesting anecdote.
Last night, a few hours after Emil Heineman was sent down to the Rocket de Laval, and before knowing that Josh Anderson was injured, we were extremely surprised to learn about the recall of Joshua Roy.
We are happy and we look forward to seeing him in action on Sean Monahan's line, but we did not see it coming.
Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton seemed determined to be patient in his case, but they finally decided to give him his chance now.
Fans are not the only ones surprised by Joshua Roy's recall
Obviously, we were not the only ones who absolutely did not see this recall coming.
Joshua Roy himself had absolutely no idea.
He was so unaware of it that when Jean-François Houle summoned him to a meeting in his office, he was worried.
He wondered what he had done wrong.
Here's an entertaining anecdote that we love. See an excerpt from Jonathan Bernier's article, from the Journal de Montréal.
"Joshua Roy was worried for a moment when Jean-François Houle summoned him to a meeting.
I didn't really know why. I was wondering: "did I do something wrong?", he said, with a smile on his face, at the end of the morning practice.
His reaction must have been magical! Anyway, we are really happy for him.
A change of mind about his number!
Roy also shared another interesting anecdote.
"The trainer came to see me this morning. He asked me if I really wanted the 97. I thought about it and said to myself: I'll go with the 89!" - Via Guillaume Lefrançois
He changed his mind about his number and he did well.
