We just learned that the Florida Panthers have decided to place the name of young defenseman Olli Juolevi on NHL waivers.
He is therefore available for free and by tomorrow, he could be claimed by another team.
Juolevi, 23, was drafted 5th overall in 2016 by the Vancouver Canucks and has played 10 games with the Panthers this season. (traded from the Canucks to the Panthers in October 2021, for Noah Juulsen and Juho Lammikko)
He's always had good potential, but he's been slow to develop, especially considering he was drafted just ahead of Matthew Tkachuk, Clayton Keller and Mikhail Sergachev.
More details to come...
Do you believe he will be claimed? Would you, instead of Kent Hughes? Remember that the Habs has had a lot of success with waivers this season.
