We have an update regarding the Montreal Canadiens goaltenders, Jakub Dobes and Samuel Montembeault. Martin St-Louis has made his decision for the final two games before the highly anticipated Four Nations Faceoff.

With back-to-back games on the schedule, both goalies will each get a start.

Jakub Dobes will step aside for Samuel Montembeault in tomorrow's game (Saturday), but he will be back in net on Sunday.

At 23 years old, standing 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 215 pounds, Jakub Dobes has a record of 5-2-1 this season, with a goals-against average of 2.45 and a save percentage of .917.

At 28 years old, standing 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 218 pounds, Samuel Montembeault has a record of 18-19-3 this season, with a goals-against average of 2.99 and a save percentage of .898.

Dobes' style of play has won over fans, and he has certainly stolen several games for the Canadiens. Montembeault, however, has been a key piece of the team for several years since being claimed on waivers by the Florida Panthers.

With Montembeault signed for two more seasons after this one at $3.15 million annually, it is likely he will retain the starter role until the organization is truly forced to make a change.

Cayden Primeau's very strong performances in the AHL must also be considered, as Dobes is still eligible to not require waivers.

Dobes' start on Sunday will be overshadowed by the Super Bowl, one of the biggest sports events of the year. The former Ohio State University goaltender will hopefully be able to keep his mind on the ice!
