Julien BriseBois has extended the contract of his chief pilot, Jon Cooper, recognized as one of the best in his field, by three years. Cooper is now tied to the Tampa Bay Lightning until 2025, which is great news.
Cooper has been with the Tampa Bay organization for 13 years, serving as the big club's chief driver since the 2012-13 campaign, when he came in to take over for Guy Boucher at the end of the calendar.
Since coming on board, Cooper has done a colossal job, building a modern-day dynasty that has seen them lift two Stanley Cup. They still have the elements to win a third consecutive one.
In short, Cooper was very happy with his new deal:
"It's been a tremendous honor to be the Lightning's head coach for over 8 seasons and I look forward to the opportunity to continue to build on what we have here. My family and I love the organization and we are part of the Tampa Bay community, this is our home."
