The Montreal Canadiens will begin their 2021 schedule on the road on October 13 when the Leafs host the Dominique Ducharme-led team. The team will return to the Bell Centre to open its home campaign on October 16, when Gerard Gallant's New York Rangers will be in town.
Jake Allen, Tyler Toffoli and Josh Anderson, who will be entering their second year with the club, have yet to experience the atmosphere of a full Bell Centre. In their first year, the pandemic didn't allow fans to come to the Bell Centre, except for the playoffs, when the number was limited.
In short, as Martin McGuire pointed out this weekend on 98.5 Sports, this will be a special moment for these three. Joel Edmundson, for his part, will have to wait before living this euphoria.
"I'm really looking forward to this game with the Bell Centre filled to capacity. I can hear the crowd noise in my headphones. I can understand the players being excited for this game, because finally it's going to be a full house," said McGuire.
That energy should certainly push these guys to have a great game as that energy gives the players a lot of gas.
