News slipped through the cracks yesterday regarding the Montreal Canadiens' practice.
As reported by Martin McGuire on 98.5 FM, there were changes to the line combinations. At first glance, this isn't very surprising given the poor performance last Tuesday.
However, these changes in the lineup also affected the first line, specifically the almost set-in-stone duo of Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki. Wow!
Here are the new line combinations as mentioned by McGuire:
Caufield Monahan Anderson
Harvey-Pinard Suzuki Gallagher
Pearson Newhook Slafkovsky
Pezzetta Evans Ylönen
It must be said, Suzuki's start to the season has been sluggish. The captain will need to step up, especially now that he has to make up for the loss of Kirby Dach for the rest of the season.
It will be interesting to see if these combinations by Martin St-Louis will remain for today's practice, which would confirm the split between Caufield and Suzuki.
