Former Montreal Canadiens goalie coach Stéphane Waite, who knows Carey Price very well, made a major statement yesterday about Carey.
With what he saw, Waite really believes Price will play this season.
And he's not the only one, many observers and experts agree that the present attempt at returning to the game of Carey is the one that is the most promising for a long time.
Price was moving well yesterday and seemed much more comfortable:
Remember that the number one goalie of the Canadiens officially started skating again last Friday and he really seems to have progressed since then. He seems more confident in his movements.
Stéphane Waite's opinion is that, knowing Price, the difference is major. He is much more explosive and more incisive in his movements.
To hear Waite, and his optimism, that gives hope.
Next up for Carey: receiving shots and making saves on the move, as well as practicing with his teammates. This will be one to watch over the next few days/weeks.
«He took a really big step today. When I saw him [in training], I even thought he was going to play again this year. His movements are much more explosive and incisive. When I looked at the images, I didn't feel that he had a fear about his knee. He did the butterfly and he made good rotations. What an improvement!" - Stephane Waite
When it comes from Waite, let's say it's very positive!
