We were talking about it a few minutes ago, Canadians head coach Martin St. Louis announced some changes to his lineup for tonight's game, including a surprise:
Among these changes, we note one in goal, while the Quebecer Samuel Montembeault will not immediately have the opportunity to comeback. It is veteran Andrew Hammond, who get the start against the Flames.
Following this decision, St. Louis made a remarkable gesture, at practice, by going to chat and personally encouraging his goalie Montembeault, according to Marc-André Perreault of TVA Sports.
More proof that St. Louis is the real captain of this team and quite a leader. It may seem like nothing, but believe me, as a goalie (and a fan of goalies) I notice this a lot and it's very rare that you see a coach acting like this, especially with a goaltender, especially in the NHL.
Generally, it's a job for the goalie coach.
