Farrell, who is expected to sign with the Montreal Canadiens in the coming weeks (intention confirmed by Kent Hughes), has just been named "Player of the Year" in the prestigious Ivy League.
This is huge and quite an honor.
Playing for the Harvard University Crimson, 21-year-old Farrell amassed a very solid 47 points (18 goals) in just 29 games this season.
He notably accumulated 21 points (6 goals and 15 assists) in 10 games within the Ivy League (an all-time record).
For those who are not familiar with the Ivy League, it is probably the most prestigious group of universities in the world.
It includes eight private universities in the Northeastern United States. They are among the oldest and most prestigious universities in the country.
The members are: Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Princeton University, University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University.
And Farrell is their Player of the Year! Wow!
