Few transactions have occurred since the beginning of the season. GMs usually take advantage of the first few weeks of the season to observe their roster and analyze their needs.
The first meeting of the league's GMs is usually the best time to start discussions with other league executives. This is exactly what is happening right now as 29 GMs are currently meeting to discuss the hot topics in the league.
According to Pierre Dorion's report, there is a lot of trade talk going on between the various meetings on the schedule.
It will be interesting to see if these discussions will turn into deals any time soon. It will be recalled that Dorion recently spied, twice, on the Montreal Canadiens in recent weeks.
