A fifth-round pick of the Canadiens in 2021, the Quebec forward is off to a great start with the Laval Rocket this season.
However, Kent Hughes decided to recall a certain Joel Armia to the big club last week, which literally displeased some Canadiens fans because Roy had a good camp and he would have undoubtedly deserved the call to the big club.
But as reported by The site Marqueur.com, the idea of bringing Joshua Roy to Montreal too quickly may not be the best for the 20-year-old athlete.
At least that's the opinion of the reputed journalist Marc-Antoine Godin who rather advocates patience in his case.
Here are his words:
The Radio-Canada journalist is not entirely wrong and he also stated that it was far too early in the season to bring about a real change within the first three lines of the Canadiens.
This is a very logical reasoning under the circumstances and it is important not to skip steps in the development of Joshua Roy because he represents great offensive potential for the future of the organization.
Even if some hockey fans would have liked to see Roy with the Canadiens this year, it is not uncommon to see a player complete a full first professional season in the American League.
He can continue to excel and collect points and he will be even more ready to help the CH when Kent Hughes decides to recall him.
