Surprise Announcement Concerning Juraj Slafkovsky and Dalibor Dvorsky
We just witnessed a very surprising announcement from Slovakia.
In Slovakia, there is a prestigious honor awarded to recognize the best Slovak U20 player, and it has great significance for young people.
This year, the nominees were:
- The 1st overall pick in 2022 Juraj Slafkovsky (Montreal)
- The 2nd overall pick in 2022 Simon Nemec (New Jersey)
- The 10th overall pick in 2023 Dalibor Dvorsky (St-Louis).
Absolutely everyone expected Slafkovsky to be crowned, but no.
To everyone's surprise, it was Dalibor Dvorsky who won the honor of the best Slovak hockey player under 20 years old.
Wow.
There was a big gala and everything. A big deal.
The good news is that this could be an extra dose of motivation for "Slaf."
Dalibor Dvorsky won the award for the best Slovak U20 ice hockey player. Surprisingly, he beat Juraj Slafkovsky and Simon Nemec.

Dvorsky, 18, scored 14 points in 38 games in Sweden last season. (professional league) However, he really dominated the junior ranks.
