As you know, the Tampa Bay Lightning have to play the numerous first weeks of the season with two AHL goalies in their lineup.
Jonas Johansson has 12 career wins in the NHL (with a .888 save percentage), while Matt Tomkins has never played a single game in the NHL.
He has played more in the ECHL.
In short, General Manager Julien BriseBois is still trying to find a solution for his goaltending situation.
Present on the BPM Sports airwaves, the Lightning GM mentioned that he does not necessarily want to make a trade because he wants to keep his picks and prospects.

However, BriseBois has indeed clearly mentioned that he could definitely turn to the NHL waivers to add a goaltender.
Would Primeau be claimed by the Lightning?
Asked about this possibility, here is his answer.

Let's recall that Kent Hughes revealed earlier this week that he was informed that a team would claim Primeau off waivers if he is placed there.

We all agree that it would be far from ideal to see Primeau join the Lightning, a team in the Canadiens' division.
