On Friday night, during L'Antichambre on RDS, Norman Flynn made a very accurate headline, in my opinion, which is to get the youngsters out of Montreal. Not to trade them, but to send them to Laval in a healthier environment. Also, the CH must do it as soon as possible, according to him.
It reminds me of the words of André Tourigny, who emphasized on TVA Sports that development was a bit like the school levels, i.e. elementary, high school, CEGEP (college) and university. A player won't develop properly if you burn the stages, unless it's Alex Ovechkin or Sidney Crosby, for example.
All of this is to say that the current culture of the team is crap, which does not help the youth of the Montreal Canadiens. As Flynn mentioned, things are not going well in the Canadiens' dressing room, so the team might as well send them to Laval so as not to ruin the kids' progression curve.
I don't always agree with what Flynn says, but he's not wrong on this one. The kids could progress more with guys like J-S Dea, Xavier Ouellet and Alex Belzile as mentors, in a less bleak environment... But, will this scenario happen? I doubt it!
