The Canadiens announce a last-minute call-up, and fans are thrilled
We're there!
We're just a few short hours away from the very first game of the Montreal Canadiens' 2023-24 season, and we have some good news to confirm.
We mentioned it yesterday, but it's now official.
Despite his technical demotion to the AHL in the last few hours, Arber Xhekaj will indeed be in Martin St-Louis' lineup tonight.
He has officially been recalled from the Laval Rocket as the CH have already finalized this "paper transaction."
Marco D'Amico confirmed Xhekaj's return to the lineup, while Joel Armia has, for his part, been moved to the Laval Rocket.
The Canadiens' first game of the season takes place tonight at 7 pm in Toronto.
