The news greatly shocked many yesterday when young Connor Bedard appeared on the rink for his first career NHL game without his helmet, showing off his hair, which immediately earned him a fine.

A fine of $2,500, due to a recent regulation requiring all new players to wear a helmet during warm-ups.

Many even praised the audacity of young Bedard.

"Bedard couldn't care less about your ridiculous $2,500 fine, Bettman!"

Today, it turns out that it wasn't necessarily young Bedard's decision to "challenge" Bettman's new rule.

Bedard's young teammate, Kevin Korchinski, said that it was the other players of the Blackhawks, their new veteran teammates (like Corey Perry) who told them not to wear a helmet during warm-ups.

"They kept saying, 'You only get one rookie lap in your entire life, guys! Make the most of it!', so Connor and I did."

So there you have it! It came from the other Hawks veterans, not from Bedard, but still!
