Trade involving defenseman Mattias Norlinder announced? Hughes just caught us by surprise by revealing himself that it's a possibility
During a recent interview with Radio-Canada between Kent Hughes and Alexandre Gascon, the general manager of the Montreal Canadiens was very transparent.
In addition to revealing that an NHL team recently reached out to attempt a trade involving Cayden Primeau, he mentioned the following.
Hughes Opens the Door to Trading Norlinder
Kent Hughes recognizes the possibility of eventually trading Mattias Norlinder, given the organization's depth in defense.
"We know we have an NHL player (with Norlinder). Does that mean we'll make space for him or trade him for something?" - Kent Hughes, on Mattias Norlinder
What's interesting here is that it wasn't even the journalist who brought up the potential trade involving Norlinder. Hughes himself broached the subject.
Could Mattias Norlinder be the next Alexander Romanov? It seems highly possible.
For instance, he might trade Norlinder + a draft pick for a solid impact forward.
