While the traditional World Junior Hockey Championship is finally in full swing, it's the perfect opportunity to see some of the Montreal Canadiens' top prospects in action.

There's Owen Beck, Filip Mesar, Lane Hutson, and goaltender Jacob Fowler.

For now, the two names that are most eye-catching are Mesar and Hutson.

Particularly in Hutson's case, more and more fans and experts are seriously wondering how he could have slipped to the 62nd overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.

The Montreal Canadiens seem to have made a real steal with this selection.

If the draft were held today, he would likely be a very high first-round pick.

In short, the one who is described by many as a real magician on the ice, Lane Hutson, has just been compared to an interesting name in Habs history.

«TSN just aired clips of Lane Hutson during the Canada vs USA exhibition game. Mike Johnson called Hutson the future quarterback of the Montreal Canadiens' power play, the one who will replace what they've been missing since Andrei Markov. Wow.".»

This comes from Mike Johnston (TSN) via HabsOnReddit.

Hutson has racked up 68 points in just 54 games since arriving at Boston University, in the NCAA. Historical figures similar to those of Quinn Hughes and Adam Fox.

Is Hutson the replacement for Andrei Markov? Johnston believes so.

In short, the CH has a real gem on its hands, one who could potentially come to Montreal by the end of the current season.

A name to remember, Lane Hutson!
