Even though we are still far from the NHL trade deadline, which will take place on March 8th, Kent Hughes will have important decisions to make by then.
The Canadiens are currently well positioned for a possible playoff spot, but if the team collapses in the second half of the season, the organization will have to review its priorities.
As we know, some veterans could interest other teams for the playoffs and as reported by Cédrick Gervais, of website Marqueur.com, insider David Pagnotta recently mentioned in an article on The Fourth Period the identity of those who could potentially leave Montreal in the coming weeks.
It's not very surprising to learn this, but I must admit that the fact that the informant mentioned the name of Jake Evans is quite astonishing.
Even though he has not declared that he is on the market, we must admit that some teams would like to add a versatile center player of the caliber of number 71.
Currently, he is arguably enjoying his finest performances since donning the Habs uniform. In recent games, he has been forming a trio with Sean Monahan and Josh Anderson.
And this line is having a lot of success as Anderson has just scored three goals in the last two games and Evans has collected five points in his last nine games.
That said, it would still be surprising if Kent Hughes trades his center player, but could he be tempted to part with him if the offer is enticing?
