In recent days, we've marked the second anniversary of Kent Hughes's hiring as the general manager of the Canadiens.

Since his arrival, he has made several personnel moves and has also well stocked his team's prospect pool with numerous draft picks.

But among the organization's promising prospects, there are also a few young players who were drafted during Marc Bergevin's tenure, including Kaiden Guhle, Logan Mailloux, and Joshua Roy.

However, as reported by Nicolas Desrosiers, from the Marqueur.com site, there's one who is rarely talked about and who was a pick of the former Canadiens GM.

During a visit last summer to the podcast The Sick Podcast with Tony Marinaro, former Canadiens scout Grant McCagg praised the merits of center player Oliver Kapanen. (a player who is Swedish and Finnish)

A second-round pick of the Canadiens in 2021, Kasperi's cousin is having a good season in Europe with 18 points in 30 games with the KalPa Kuopio team in Europe, and according to McCagg, Kapanen is the organization's most underrated young talent.

He even added that he has the potential to become a second-line center in the NHL eventually.

These are quite interesting remarks from McCagg and it further demonstrates the depth of the Canadiens organization's prospects.

That said, with Nick Suzuki and Kirby Dach on the team, it seems like Kapanen's time with the big club is not imminent but as the seasons end earlier in Europe, it will be interesting to see if the Swedish prospect will emulate his compatriot Emil Heineman and join the Laval Rocket by the end of the year.
