Benoit, 25 years old, hails from Laval and stands at a towering 6 feet 4 inches and weighs 210 pounds.
In 78 games with the Anaheim Ducks last season, he collected 10 points and racked up 60 penalty minutes.
He's known to drop the gloves and mix things up.
