During the Tampa Bay Lightning-Edmonton Oilers matchup, we witnessed this sad scene involving forward Evander Kane.
In the last few seconds, the Oilers organization issued the following statement:
"After suffering a wrist injury early in the second period, Evander Kane is stable and has been transported to the hospital for surgery later this evening." - Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers general manager added that we're talking about a deep cut to the wrist. Kane will therefore undergo surgery in the next few minutes.
Reporter Renaud Lavoie adds this:
"Evander Kane was transported to the hospital and his life seems out of danger."
