According to reputable tipster David Pagnotta, the Boston Bruins have agreed to terms on a major trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Here's the basis:
TO BOSTON -
Defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov
TO COLUMBUS -
A first round pick
A third round pick
And more. See Pagnotta's info:
"The Vladislav Gavrikov 2023 derby is nearing the finish line. Sources say the Blue Jackets and Bruins have agreed to a trade in place (1st round/3rd round picks are said to be involved), but Boston needs to clear some cap space. One player I've heard they are trying to trade is Craig Smith. However...
The Blue Jackets won't wait forever. It is understood that if another team rushes in with a competitive/better offer, they could go that route. The ball (or puck) is in Boston's court as they try to make the money work. The addition of Gavrikov could surely eliminate Boston from the Chychrun derby."
- David Pagnotta This actually fits with the following information:
"Columbus reportedly has a trade in place for Vladislav Gavrikov, but it requires another deal to happen first, according to Aaron Portzline." - NHL News
Gavrikov trade: good news for CH
According to several tipsters, including Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, several teams that were targeting Gavrikov may now focus on the CH's Joel Edmundson (and possibly David Savard as well).
To be continued, this is a file still in development!
Gavrikov was Kent Hughes' main obstacle for other teams looking for a reliable, defensively solid and tough defenseman.
Gavrikov was the plan "A" for many clubs, so trading him could open up a lot of opportunities for the Habs.
Gavrikov, 27, is a 6-foot-3, 221-pound defenseman. He has 10 points in 52 games this season.
More details to come.
