Trade alert: Montreal Canadiens involved in three-team transaction
We have just learned that the Montreal Canadiens are involved in a three-team trade.
"The Habs are playing the role of the third team in the Nick Bonino trade between SJ/PIT. They receive a fifth-round draft pick as compensation."
- Chris Johnston
They also put their hands on Tony Sund from Pittsburgh, a 27 year-old defenseman who played most of his career in Europe.
Therefore, the Montreal Canadiens are retaining a portion of Bonino's salary and receiving a draft pick.
