We're getting a big turnaround as the NHL trade deadline comes to a close, with a deal potentially being called off.
Multiple media outlets and sources reported earlier today that the Vegas Golden Knights traded Evgenii Dadonov + a second round pick, to the Anaheim Ducks, in exchange for the contract of Ryan Kesler (LTIR) and defenseman John Moore.
Now, Dadonov had a list of 10 teams he didn't want to be traded to and the Ducks are on it.
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, Dadonov's contract says he can't be traded until he provides a list of 10 teams he refuses to go to. But, it also says that the list must be sent in by July 1 (which doesn't appear to have been done).
In short, this is a big deal and the trade could really be off. The league will give an update in the next few hours as to the verdict.
Once again, the Vegas Golden Knights are showing their lack of class towards their players and in this case, it could hurt them because if they take back Dadonov's contract, they will be in trouble with the salary cap.
More details to come!
