Trade involving a Montreal Canadiens' goalie: journalist Eric Engels confirms what we believe and it seems potentially inevitable
In the last few hours, during a short Q&A session, journalist Eric Engels, who covers the Montreal Canadiens and has good sources, was asked if he believes a trade involving a goaltender is imminent for Kent Hughes.
Here's his answer.
"Hard to see it otherwise. Going to be tough to sneak Primeau through waivers, unless a couple of other goalies move to teams in need." - Eric Engels
So, we should still expect a trade involving a goaltender, sooner rather than later, for the Montreal Canadiens.
The big question is: which one?
Will Kent Hughes capitalize on his incredible start to the season and get a hefty return for Jake Allen? Or will he instead offer a new opportunity elsewhere to Cayden Primeau?
Or perhaps a team will be ready to pay big for Samuel Montembeault?
All options seem to be on the table right now, but one thing is for sure, the three-way situation can't last much longer.
It's not good for anyone.
