This is solid news for the organization, for two reasons!
Firstly, obviously, it's strong reinforcements arriving immediately for the Laval Rocket, which will certainly help the Canadiens' farm team get back into the thick of the playoff race.
Secondly, it could allow Kent Hughes to bring reinforcements to a fourth line that desperately needs it right now in the main club.
Don't be surprised if Mitchell Stephens is sent down to the Rocket, and someone like Andersson gets a chance with the Canadiens.
In any case, it gives GM Hughes a lot more options.
Andersson has 9 points, including 7 goals, in 10 games this season.
Farrell has 12 points, including 4 goals, in 18 games this season.
This also indicates that a Canadiens defenseman is on the way to being sent down to the Rocket. We're not expecting it to be Jayden Struble, nor Justin Barron, so that possibly leaves Gustav Lindstrom (who would have to go through NHL waivers first).
There's also the possibility of seeing Jordan Harris temporarily sent to Laval, for conditioning purposes. This is a solution mentioned by several experts.
Stay tuned!
