We've talked about a couple of players already, including Corey Schueneman and Madison Bowey who have been placed on waivers by the Montreal Canadiens, but there are several interesting names currently available for Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton, who have the number one priority to claim players from waivers.

Let's also remember that the very interesting Juuso Valimaki has been claimed by the Arizona Coyotes.

Currently, the list of players placed on waivers is really long, and we obviously find several very intriguing and interesting names, including a few prospects and some former CH players.

64 players in total

See in particular some of the former Montreal Canadiens organization that are currently on waivers:

Mike Reilly (who has remarkable advanced stats)

89%, including 94% on offense! Wow!

"The biggest name (to me) is Mike Reilly."

There's also:

Jarred Tinordi
Victor Mete
Laurent Dauphin

And some intriguing names:

Julien Gauthier
Lucas Johansen
Brett Leason
Henrik Borgstrom
Wayne Simmonds
Michal Kempny
Chris Tierney
Aleksi Heponiemi
Will Butcher
Emil Bemstrom

Finally, let's mention Philippe Myers, acquired this summer by the Tampa Bay Lightning. He is a 6-foot-5, 210-pound right-handed defenseman who has had a very solid start to his NHL career (which led to his trade for the excellent Ryan Ellis with Nolan Patrick).

He has 142 games of NHL experience and a positive +7 rating. Myers, 25, earns only $1.4 million per year.

Could Kent Hughes claim Philippe Myers or Mike Reilly? Many would like to, especially the experts who criticize the number of rookie defensemen in Montreal.
