Tyler Toffoli was well liked in Montreal, but with the direction the team was heading, it was no surprise that he was traded before the trade deadline last season.
Toffoli still had some good times with the CH, as the forward was in the lineup when the team went to the Stanley Cup finals.
The number 73 also had the chance to see two young stars in their early days, and to be a mentor of sorts. Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield played key roles in the 2021 playoffs and Tyler Toffoli is not surprised to see them succeed this season.
These two guys love the game of hockey so much that they are always working to improve. They do it with the enthusiasm associated with their young age. There are many guys who work hard to develop, but I don't know of many who do it with the kind of pleasure that Nick and Cole show. -Toffoli
No surprises here. You can see how much fun both guys have, both in game situations and in practice. However, it is very special to see a former teammate throwing flowers at them like this.
