He is truly a special coach, different from the others, and we love it.
Sometimes it's about the details, but details that mean a lot to the players.
We had another good example today at the Habs' practice.
Martin St-Louis and his colleagues gave the players and other staff members who usually do this task a little break, and they stayed after the training to pick up all the pucks.
Needless to say, as a hockey player, especially at the highest levels, you never see coaches staying to pick up all the pucks like that after a training session.
It's a small gesture, but it says so much about St-Louis' philosophy and attitude.
I don't think I've ever seen a head coach do that in my life, let alone an NHL head coach.
We thought it was worth mentioning:
Here's another interesting scene observed after the Canadiens' practice, and it's also very rare to see this in the NHL:
The coaches, including Martin St-Louis, stayed to do skating drills with Joel Edmundson.
They didn't just watch, they did it with him. Imagine how motivating that is for a player.
It's really beautiful to see all of this!
